BSF nabs ULFA Linkman

Shillong, Feb 29:
Reacting on specific information, BSF troops launched a special operation at Kishnupara, West Garo Hills and apprehended one ULFA cum GNLA linkman on Tuesday evening.
According to BSF official statement, “A search observed two miscreants illegally infiltrating inside Indian Territory. On being challenged by BSF troops, both of them tried to flee back towards the international Indo-Bangla border”.
“The BSF troops overpowered one of the miscreants but however one managed to escape taking the advantage of the darkness and thick vegetation,” the BSF statement added.
The apprehended person has been identified as Murphy Marak (30) from Samalchura Village, Bangladesh.
One mobile along with one Bangladesh SIM Card were recovered from his possession.
During preliminary questioning apprehended person confessed that he has been working for ULFA for the last 10 years and got involved with GNLA in the recent year.
In another incident BSF troops deployed at Chichingpara, West Garo Hills district apprehended one Indian anti national element while he was illegally trying to intrude into the Indian soil from Bangladesh. The apprehended person has been identified as Sujeet Marak (30) from Adang Chandaboi village.
Besides above, BSF troops have seized 47 cattle, 7.250 Kilograms of Marijuana and other contraband items during the past week.
The estimated cost of seized items is worth about Rs. 34 lakhs.
Apprehended persons and seized items have been handed over to concerned departments for legal actions as per law of land.
