SHILLONG, March 29: The Sub Committee comprising of all the Rangbah Dongs, the Secretaries and representatives from the Eight localities falling under the jurisdiction of the Malki Dorbar which includes Nongshiliang, Pdengshnong, Khliehshnong, Nongpyngrope, Dhankheti, Chinapaty, LumbalangÂ and Kharmalki, have strongly refuted the allegations made by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) which appeared in local dailies on Thursday.
â€œThe allegations are baseless and without justification and an attempt to create confusion and misunderstanding among the residents of Malki,â€ said the Sub Committee.
NONGSTOIN, March 29: Two persons died on the spot and four others were seriously injured in an road mishap that took place at Nonglwai, Nongstoin on Thursday morning.
Sources informed that at around 9 am Thursday morning, one timber laden truck (Mini Truck), bearing registration number ML 05 D 8745, traveling at high speed from Nonglwai side with some people on its roof suddenly skid off the road and over turned at the road side.

Among many important panels, the conference also featured a panel titled â€œLook East Policy: Look East through the Northeast.â€
The panel on the Look East Policy included Leichombam Erendro Singh, a World Bank Fellow at Harvard University, Pradyot Deb Burman, head of the Tripura Royal Family, Chairman and Editor, The Northeast Today Magazine, and Binalakshmi Nepram, Writer-Activist, Founder, Manipur Women Gun Survivors Network.Â
SHILLONG, March 29: Meghalaya Chief Minister, Dr. Mukul Sangma inaugurated the first phase of the FarmersÂ Market at Bakur, Dawki, bordering Bangladesh on Thursday.
It may be mentioned that the market was constructed by the Meghalaya State Agriculture Market Board in 2010 with an aim to improve the economy of the farmers in the area. The project was implemented at Dawki considering its location alongÂ the international border between India and Bangladesh.
SHILLONG, March 29: The 46th Branch of the Meghalaya Cooperative Apex Bank(MCAB) ltd was inaugurated at Nongmynsong, Shillong on Thursday by the Meghalaya Minister for Water Resources, A L Hek.
Hek lauded the effort of the MCAB management for expanding its banking service in every nook and corner of the state for catering needs of the people.
Expressing happiness that the MCAB has implemented core banking in the State, Hek mentioned that this facility will ensure speedy process of financial matters. He hoped that more new branches will be open especially in those areas where there are no banking facilities.
