2 female NDFB cadres apprehended

Shillong, March 30:
Two hardcore female National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) cadres were apprehended by the Special Operation team launched by the BSF on Friday.
The troops intercepted a mini bus bound for Barrengapara (Dalu) and arrested two hardcore Female NDFB cadres from Dopasipara (Tura) West Garo Hills District who, on specific information, were likely to cross over to Bangladesh for a specific task.

Mawiong Dorbar Committee oppose abattoir site at Mawlai Umjapung

Shillong, March 30:
The proposed construction of abattoir (Slaughter house) at Mawlai Umjapung has received objection from the Joint Executive Committee of the Dorbar Shnong Mawiong Umjapung and Dorbar Shnong Mawiong Rim. 
Addressing a press conference here Friday, the Committee raised fear that the abattoir being near to Marten Dumping ground may contaminate the quality of meat and pose danger to consumers of meat.

BJP attribute water scarcity in Tura to poor govt planning

A meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) West Garo Hills District was held at Tura District BJP office Hawakhana on Saturday last.
The State President HS Syiemlieh and State General Secretary Dipayan Chakraborty were present at the meeting. Around 150 members joined the party from South Tura Constituency under the leadership of David Ch. Marak (Ram) joined the party.
The newly joined members were welcomed by the State President.

1 dead, five injured in separate road mishaps

SHILLONG, March 30:
An unknown person died en route to the hospital and another sustained serious injuries after they were hit by a Mahindra pick-up truck while they were sitting on the side of the road at Mukdangra, West Garo Hills on Friday at about 3:00 pm.
The 108 Emergency Service Ambulance based at Asanang and Tura helped in shifting Samel T. Sangma (35) and Maidul Islam (29) the driver of the Mahindra pick-up to Tura Civil Hospital.

CSWO condemns rape of minor, demands bail refusal

Shillong, March 30:
While condemning rape of a nine year old minor girl allegedly by Philanstar Dotni (33) of Mawrohroh, of Tyrsad, the Civil Society Women Organization (CSWO) has demanded that the culprit should not be granted bail and convicted for committing such an unwarrantable crime.
The minor girl is now hospitalized in Ganesh Das Hospital and undergoing treatment.
