SHILLONG, March 29:
The Sub Committee comprising of all the Rangbah Dongs, the Secretaries and representatives from the Eight localities falling under the jurisdiction of the Malki Dorbar which includes Nongshiliang, Pdengshnong, Khliehshnong, Nongpyngrope, Dhankheti, Chinapaty, Lumbalang  and Kharmalki, have strongly refuted the allegations made by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) which appeared in local dailies on Thursday.
“The allegations are baseless and without justification and an attempt to create confusion and misunderstanding among the residents of Malki,” said the Sub Committee.
The Sub Committee mentioned that a meeting was held on March 24 last wherein Constitution of the Dorbar Shnong Malki was discussed and finalized and a resolution was also taken to place the same on March 31 next before the Dorbar Shnong for approval. Since no new names were received to contest for the post of Rangbah Shnong Malki, the Sub Committee decided to announce the name of HP Offlyn Dohling as the lone candidate and to place it before the Dorbar on the same day to take the final decision on the matter.
It may be mentioned that two members of JAC were also present in this last meeting and they have not expressed any disagreement to the decision taken.
Considering the facts, the Sub Committee felt that the procedure taken was democratic and transparent as ample opportunity was given to everyone to express their views. Besides, the suggestions made by the respective localities were also honored. “Therefore, the allegations made by the JAC have no basis whatsoever and should not be taken as factually correct,” the committee exhorted.
The Sub Committee also appealed to all the residents of Malki to attend the meeting of the Dorbar on Saturday at Malki Ground at 9 am to take a final decision on the matter of election of the Rangbah Shnong Malki.
