2 dead, 4 seriously injured as wood laden truck overturns

NONGSTOIN, March 29:
Two persons died on the spot and four others were seriously injured in an road mishap that took place at Nonglwai, Nongstoin on Thursday morning.
Sources informed that at around 9 am Thursday morning, one timber laden truck (Mini Truck), bearing registration number ML 05 D 8745, traveling at high speed from Nonglwai side with some people on its roof suddenly skid off the road and over turned at the road side.
During the incident two people identified as Batskhem Kharbani (14) of Nonglwai Village, a class IX student of Joel Gatphoh Memorial Secondary School Kynroh and one Restarwell Iawphniaw (23) from the same village died on the spot while the others four people were sustained serious injuries.
The injured have been identified as Twingbor Kharbani, Pynshaibor Jyndiang, Klinsman Kharbani and the Driver, Phol Dkhar. They were taken away to Civil Hospital Nongstoin.
Klinsman, who was in a serious condition, was taken to Shillong Civil Hospital for better treatment. Interestingly, it was told that one woman from Marskuin village who was sitting on the same truck escaped without any injured.
