Trinamool Congress all set to sprint its train in Meghalaya

SHILLONG, Apr 29:
In its bid to strengthen its footing in the North Eastern states of the country, the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) is all geared to step into the Scotland of the East and take on the upcoming assembly polls by storm.
Sources have revealed that Trinamool Congress, led by West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee (popularily known as Didi) is keeping her targets in the lone Congress dominated state.
Sources also said that name of former Home Minister, RG Lyngdoh who is also under suspension from Indian National Congress, has been proposed for the party’s president ship in the state.

The beautiful Khasi, Garo and Jaintia Hills of two decades ago, the greenery and clean water, have all gone.
Worse still is the greed of the ‘private coal miners’ and their agents who are behind child trafficking, slave labour and exploitation of the poor labourers of Nepal.

GNLA Chief declare Rs 15 lakhs for information on police movement

Reacting to the Rs 10 lakh bounty announced on his head by the Meghalaya Police, Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) Commander - in – Chief, Sohan D Shira, Sunday said “instead of paying Rs 10 lakhs to catch me, government should make proper roads, bridges in Garo hills” asserting “Rs 10 lakhs on my head is not fair”.
In Williamnagar Bazaar, two girls would not have been swept away into the river had that Rs 10 lakhs been utilized to build proper bridge in the market which will be beneficial to all the common people instead of spending on me alone, he stressed.

Seng Khasi Cremation Ground Cleansing held

The annual Seng Khasi (Kmie) Mawkhar, Shillong Cremation Ground Cleansing Programme was held on Sunday at Jaiaw cremation Ground, Shillong, which was inaugurated by Member Khasi Autonomous District Council, Adelbert Nongrum in the presence of other members of the Council.
A large number of youths drawn from different Seng Khasi units of Shillong and the suburbs took part in the programme in a spirit of enthusiasm.
The Lum-Jingthang Committee of the Seng Khasi (Kmie) Mawkhar, Shillong expressed its gratefulness to all those who took part in the programme.
