Shillong, May 30: The Hynniewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF), Central Body has expressed its strong opposition to the need of having Rail Road connection in the State of Meghalaya.
HYNF, Finance Secretary, BL Ryntathiang said, â€œIn the current state of affairs in our State the introduction of Rail connection will surely be counter-productive because, failure of successive Government to come out with rightful initiatives and policies to counter influx has made the situation in our State one of unwarranted cosmopolitan to the point of putting the identity of the Indigenous people at stake.â€
SHILLONG, May 30: The ROKO Cancer Charitable Trust, Shillong on Wednesday organized a Mega health camp at Oakland Community Hall for the benefit of the Oakland locality.
The camp started at 9:30 am and continued till 3pm.

â€œIt is an achievement that only Gary can fully comprehend and on behalf of the people of Meghalaya I extend my sincere felicitation to Gary Jarman Lamare for having put the State on the top of the world,â€ Dr Sangma said.
Wishing Gary a safe and quick return, the CM urged upon other young people to â€œfollow their dreams and aim to achieve the seemingly impossible.â€ Dr Sangma informed that the government will formally felicitate Gary for his achievement.

Shillong, May 30: Even as the Nationalist Congress Partyâ€™s (NCP) central leadership remains non-committal over supporting its leader Purno A Sangma's candidature for the Presidential post, the Partyâ€™s Meghalaya unit has geared up to garner support for the veteran politician to stake claim of President Post.
Extending their complete support to Sangma, the NCP's Meghalaya unit Wednesday urged other parties from the region to support their tribal leader for the nation's top post.
It has also urged the NCP President Sharad Powar and its other party members to take a stand in supporting the candidature of Sangma for the post of the President.
