Shillong, June 30:
The Meghalaya unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly condemned the remark of Congress MLA in Punjab who has kicked up a controversy with his remark that stray dogs in Punjab be sent to the North-East.
The BJP feels that it is “derogatory” to the people of the North-East by a Congress MLA.
The State BJP has further expressed astonishment that after such insulting remark by the Congress MLA, the oldest National Party in India is silent and is not taking any disciplinary action against him.
“It further proves that the Congress party stands with the remark of its MLA and has no respect for the people of North East,” Dipayan Chakraborty said in a press statement here.
