Meghalaya Helicopter Service resumed

Shillong, July 30: The Managing Director, Meghalaya Transport Corporation (MTC) has informed that the Meghalaya Helicopter Service has been resumed with effect from Thursday last.
The Shillong-Guwahati-Tura service is available on Mondays, Wednesdays, Friday and Saturdays and the Shillong-Guwahati service is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The fare for Shillong-Guwahati, vice versa is Rs 1500 for adult, Rs 1000 for Children (2-12) and Rs 500 for infant below 2 years.
The fare for Shillong-Guwahati-Tura vice versa is Rs 1900 for adult, Rs 1500 for children and Rs 700 for infant. And the fare for Tura-Guwahati vice versa for adult, Children and Infant is Rs 1700, Rs 1300 and Rs 600 respectively.

Army tries to encroach into civilian land

SHILLONG, July 30:
Army has again come on the lime light for the wrong doings as they again tried to encroach into public land claiming it to be theirs.
With such incident taking at regular intervals in state, in Monday’s incident a group of soldiers from the 119 TA battalion erected a ‘Defence Land’ sign board in a plot of land, which belongs to one Lascretice Lyngdoh at Lawsohtun Block VI, near Government Sericulture Farm.

6th MLP battalion headquarters to come up in Umran

SHILLONG, July 30:
Meghalaya government is all set to acquire a sprawling land measuring up to 200 acres in Ri Bhoi district for setting up of the headquarters of the 6th Meghalaya Police (MLP) Battalion and State Police Academy, officials Monday informed.
“The Deputy Commissioner of the district has submitted a proposal to the government on this regard”, a senior official from the home department said.

Need more God fearing person to lead Meghalaya: Benny

A prayer meeting for change was on Sunday organized at Edenbari Village for the aspiring legislator from Tura North Constituency Roger Benny A Sangma or simply ‘Benny’ and his future endeavor  so that he can serve people with clean hearts and right attitude to bring peace and development in Tura and Meghalaya  as a whole, if voted to power.
The meeting was attended by church elders, senior citizens and well-wishers of Benny.

NCP Meghalaya Unit to pave new road map today

The much anticipated meeting of the Nationalist Congress party (NCP), Meghalaya Unit here in the city scheduled for Monday was deferred since PA Sangma was not available for the meeting.
Sources informed that the meeting is likely to be held on Tuesday as Sangma is expected to be in City.
