SHILLONG, May 02: The Meghalaya State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday expressed shock over the silence of the State Government over CMJ University’s controversy row.
According to the General Secretary, Dipayan Chakraborty said that as a responsible government they should not wash their hands by saying they will now monitor the regulations from now on, which they should have done from the inception of the university.
Chakraborty further said, “The government is equally responsible for the anomalies,” and that the people are totally confused over the issue and the State Government should explain about the faith of the University.
The BJP also urged the state government to set up a CBI enquiry into the anomalies of the CMJ University.
Any Private University or Professional Education Center cannot play with the faith of the Students and their parents hard working earning. We are not against the concept of private University or educational institutes but the credibility of the institutes must be taken care of before the recognition is given to any institutes, the General Secretary said.
