ULFA militant nabbed in Assam

Guwahati, March 16: Security forces apprehended a hardcore militant of anti-talk faction group of United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) in Assam’s Darrang district on Saturday, police said.
Acting on a tip-off, army and police had launched search operation at Marami Chuk near Mangaldoi in the district and nabbed the militant.

The apprehended militant was identified as Amar Jyoti Deka and police recovered a hand grenade in possession of him.
“The hardcore militant joined ULFA in 2010 and was trained in Myanmar, who returned to Assam 10 days before,” a top police official said.
On the other hand, Dhubri district police apprehended a Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO) cadre from Kamakhyaguri in West Bengal on Saturday.
The nabbed militant was identified as Pradeep Chandra Rai alias Raghu.
“The KLO militant is one of the main accused persons of Agriculture department engineer Gadapani Pathak murder case,” police said.
