Shillong, March 15: Two newly inducted MLAs, who are also Parliamentary Secretary, were on Friday barred by security personnel from entering the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly premises.

Independent legislator from Tikrikilla, Michael T Sangma who is Parliamentary Secretary in – charge of Excise and Congress legislator from Rongjeng Sengnam Marak, also the Parliamentary Secretary in – charge of Health & Family Welfare and Fisheries, were not allowed by the police personnel to enter the Assembly premises as they have not received ID card as MLA and are yet to be allotted official vehicles.
Also, sources informed that due to heavy traffic jam, they had walked to Assembly in order to reach for the second day of Budget Session on time. On being prevented from entering the assembly, as the police personnel on duty failed to recognize them coupled with them failing to produce any document to ascertain their identity, the duo walked back feeling offended.
