Shillong, Jan 03: Meghalaya NCP will be releasing the final list of its candidates after party’s National Convention scheduled for Wednesday at New Delhi.
“I will be meeting Sharad Pawarji on Wednesday at the national convention and get the final list candidates for the state Assembly election along with along with me” said party convener and Deputy Speaker Sanbor Shullai over the phone.
It may be mentioned here that Election Commission of India (ECI) is scheduled to announce the date for the ninth term of the State Assembly by the week’s time.
NCP in the state is in a bad shape with co-founder of the party PA Sangma, after he was not supported by NCP in his presidential race, resigned from the party and joined hand with Manipur’s Nationalist People Party (NPP) as president to give it a national party look, following which all the NCP MLA’s merged with NPP except for Shullai and Adolf Lou Hitler who are still with NCP.
The party has not only lost its MLAs but even the grass root workers have followed Sangma and joined NPP.
