SHILLONG, Oct 27: Bangladesh has proposed to convene a high level meeting with its neighboring counterparts â€“ India and Bhutan â€“ to explore the possibility of jointly utilizing the water resources of the Brahmaputra River, Bangladesh High Commissioner to India, Tariq Karim Saturday informed.
â€œWe are proposing to convene a meeting between the three countries to discuss on issues on Brahmaputra basin management,â€ Karim told reporters here.
Guwahati, Oct 27: Two hardcore cadres of anti-talk faction group of United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) were nabbed by security forces in Assamâ€™s Goalpara district along with Assam-Meghalaya border on Saturday, police said.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of army and police had launched a search operation at Lakhipur area in the district along with the Meghalaya border and apprehended the militant duo.

The event, organised by the MTDF and sponsored by the State Government of Meghalaya under the theme â€˜For a Greener Tomorrowâ€™ was flagged off by the Chief Minister from Madan Iewrenghep at Fire Brigade and culminated at Polo Grounds and covered a distance of 5 miles.
