Local girl tops Bangalore University

SHILLONG, Dec 30:
In a proud achievement for the State, a local girl has made it to the list of toppers of the prestigious Bangalore University. Janice Lynrah daughter of Michael Shylla acclaimed photographer and retired director in the Union ministry of information and broadcasting (Photo Division) secured the third position in the University results declared yesterday. She is a resident of Laitkor Peak.
A student of MSc in Electronic Media in CMR Centre for Media Studies, Bangalore, Janice is the first Khasi girl to make it to the list of fame in her chosen stream of studies. She will be awarded a Gold medal for her achievement in the field of media studies in the month of February, 2012.
When sought for a response on her achievement, Janice thanked God for the success and observed “Without His help I would not have made it this far and I also thank my parents and my siblings for their unstinting support,” even as she added, “I also wish to express my undying gratitude to my teachers for all that they have taught me.”
