The three - day 8th Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) for the first time in India reflects the growing security and economic partnership between America and India, Ivanka Trump, the daughter of US President Donald Trump and his Advisor observed. The three-day event, being co-hosted here by the US and India, is being attended by 1,500 entrepreneurs, investors and eco-system supporters from 159 countries.
The theme of the 8th GES is Women First, Prosperity For All.  Trump said that this is the key to our future.

Ivanka in her keynote address while congratulating Hyderabad, India for hosting the GES for the first time, as a symbol of the strengthened friendship between our two peoples, and the growing economic and security partnership between our two nations, had also convey that  as President Trump said earlier this year: India has a true friend in the White House. She noted this without specifying the recent pronouncements of the US administration favourable to India in the area of security, diplomacy and cooperation.
Ivanka lauded the people of India for having lifted more than 130 million citizens out of poverty. All of you are helping India’s middle class reach its goal of becoming 500 million people by 2030, she had said. Complimenting India for being one of the fastest growing economies globally, lifting millions out of poverty and for the progress achieved in science and technology, she said, “The people of India inspire us all.”
Trump noted that Hyderabad-based start-ups incubator T-Hub’s- brand new facility is set to open next year and will become the largest incubator in Asia.
Most of the Dreamers, Innovators, Start-ups and Entrepreneurs from India managed to put up exceptional glamorous exhibitions of their work, which have been motivated by the grass root, where even the basic necessities like health care is still a distant dream. The auto-ambulance was the answer to reach to the interior villages, and some of the inventors have provided basic health care even to the People with Disability (PwDs) which has added a charm by turning the ancient city brimming with transformative technology.
However, Meghalaya, which has been thriving mainly on traditional handloom and handicraft, while the pottery is fading out failed to make it to the Summit. In actually the North Eastern region could not put up any start-ups models or innovation to attract the foreign investors.
It is time that the central government encourages the people from this region to be more innovative keeping up with the demands of time, it is time the citizen from this region come out from their comfort zone and partake in competing at the global arena.
The people from the North Eastern region, particularly Meghalaya, are so accustomed to only seeking government jobs, which is now saturated and have created the Artificial Unemployment,  as the educated youths refused to take risk in venturing out into manufacturing, productions or innovations which can also generate employment have indeed pushed the spirit of entrepreneurship backwards.
The over dependence on government right from schooling to job is said to have paralyzed the innovative mind and visionaries for creation. Every little product for day to day utilities are being imported, while the local products are yet to penetrate into the national market. How does one expect to reach the global market or be part of the 8th GES.
Meghalaya needs to shed off the image of artificial unemployment, and adorn the indigenous outlook by convergence of modern technologies to meet the demand of the global market, all it requires is to maintain standardized norms and hard work, as there are no short-cuts or reservation when it comes to global markets. Of course there is huge potential for the rich cultural heritage of the region which the whole world would love to hear about or achieve making products as souvenir.
All the region needs is better packaging of the existing products and produces, and enhancement of the standard of all products as per the demand of global market as the beginning. For that, a change of the mentality and political will of public and government respectively is a must otherwise as the nation talks about the next summit, Meghalaya and the North Eastern region will remain where we stand today.
