But, the way he was handed over to the Meghalaya Police superseding the Central Government and Central Intelligent have spurs up confusion across all ranks and files.
Champion who is also the co-founding member of the GNLA was pushed back to India by Bangladesh authorities early Monday morning. He was arrested from an apartment in Dhaka last November during a routine raid conducted by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) - a security agency of Bangladesh based on intelligence-inputs they received from India.
Interestingly, the Border Security Forces (BSF) in the state however denied their involvement in the handing over process. The advertisement on Meghalaya Tourism aired in the National Television Channel is a good attempt to promote the state, more than promoting the tourism, the state must actually focus on developing the infrastructure of the state, more so the Human Recourses and man power to felicitate and be a stakeholder to the industry. More than tourism, looking at the promotions, and knowing number of good film makers is jobless in the state, it is time for the government to recognized film making as an industry in the state too.
Film makers here in the state have only graduated from VHS to Digital, regarding the scripts, songs and technicality they are second to none, however, few year back, a particular film was pulled down from screening by the District Magistrate, in Jowai, Jaintia Hills District due unparliamentarily dialogue, after the complaint received from the audience, which only strengthen that, there were no Censoring board present in the state.
The former government led by Dr D D Lapang wanted to bring in Bollywood to the state as their next destination, did not fine much taker, meaning, even the basic infrastructure is lacking in the state, especially in terms of hospitality and transportation, security aspects, the visiting teams were very impressed with the simplicity of the villagers.

Keishing Clifford Nongrum, Maha Vir Chakra to make Meghalaya proud to have nurtured this true son of Mother India, especially when it comes to Army and North East region. His vision for the youth to joint Army was made clear by his father, Keishing Peter at the Commemorative Function of Kargil hero on July 26, at the city college St. Anthony’s College, where Late Capt Nongrum graduated.
In one of the most sanctity function, where Keishing Peter could not stop his tears during the function, while special homage song are being sang. He latter read out the personal notes of his son written just a year before he made his supreme sacrifice, supposed to have been delivered in the said college he studied, luring the youth to joint Army for self respects and family pride.
Keishing Peter had feared his life will be a failure if he does not walk the same part where his son have given up his life, since 2006 he made an attempt to reached the spot at Kargil, he succeeded only last year with the help of the same troop of his son, he felt his pilgrimage of life is achieved when he saw the bunker his son destroyed killing six enemies inside and the site where Capt Nongrum breath his last. He felt the same pride for defending the country from the enemy.
The Northeastern region of India, which shares a long stretch of the international border with Bangladesh, China, Myanmar, Bhutan, and Nepal, has necessitated the presence of defence personal co-existing with the civilian jurisdiction. However, Meghalaya till date has given India only one recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, Kargil hero, the late Capt. Keishing Clifford Nongrum.
