BSF seize 5kg hemp at international border

SHILLONG, June 18:
Reacting on specific information, the Border Security Force (BSF) deployed in Gumaghat, West Khasi Hills district on June 16 last seized 5kg hemp while being smuggled into Bangladesh.
It is pertinent to mention here that it has always been the endeavor of BSF to keep a strict vigil and deny any smuggling of psychotropic substances/ narcotics/alcohol to Bangladesh and in this task BSF is also seeking the help of BGB.
In another incident, on Sunday, reacting on specific input, BSF troops of BOP Dulainala and Sonatala deployed in East Khasi Hills district seized 190 bottles of liquor while being smuggled into Bangladesh.
Besides above, BSF troops of Meghalaya Frontier also seized 4 country boats, wooden logs and other contraband items of the estimated cost of Rs. 4,90,000, during the last week.
The seized items have been handed over to the concerned Department for further disposal.
